Aabaha, Inc is a registered domestic nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, fully committed to using theater to create a better world. Aabaha is a collective of dedicated non-equity theater enthusiasts based in Greater Metro Atlanta, driven by a desire to explore the endless possibilities of this unique art form. We are passionate about the power of theater to inspire, educate, and entertain.
Not being satisfied with the status quo of traditional theater techniques we are pushing the boundaries of theater to create bold new experiences that connect with audiences on a deeper emotional level. We experiment and challenge the established norms of theater, refine the form and structure of plays to spark new ideas and perspectives. By doing so, we aim to offer fresh and thought-provoking experiences that stimulate conversation and inspire change. We firmly believe that with the rise of electronic gizmos and digital media, theater can open new doors and take us on incredible journeys that transport us to places we never thought possible.

Kallol Nandi, as the founder of Aabaha, has a vision to explore new forms of theater by integrating technologies into theatrical productions. By embracing innovative techniques and incorporating technology, he aims to push the boundaries of traditional theater and create captivating experiences for audience.
Kallol also serves as one of the directors of Aabaha’s productions. He contributes to shaping the artistic vision, directing actors, and bringing scripts to life on stage. His directorial expertise adds depth and creativity to organization’s repertoire.
Chaitali De is a multi-talented individual with a diverse educational background. She is involved in theater productions, serves as a board member in Aabaha, and is the chief editor of “Apar Bangla.”
Shubhagato Bhattacharjee has been practicing this art form as an actor/writer/director. Performed at The British Council’s Theatre festivals in Kolkata, worked as an intern with some of Kolkata’s group theatres. He has been a part of a play directed by Mr. Soumitra Mitra.
Rina Datta Chakravorty, a Kolkata-born artist, is a versatile and accomplished individual in the field of arts. With an academic background in English Literature and journalism, she has pursued her passion for acting, directing, painting, and writing. As a member of Aabaha’s Board of Directors, she contributes to the organization’s strategic decisions and has taken on significant roles in their productions. Rina’s talent and diverse artistic skills make her a valuable asset to the theater community.
Pranjal Karmakar, a passionate performing arts enthusiast, participates in Aabaha’s productions, both behind the scenes as a production designer and on stage as an actor. Pranjal’s notable performances in plays such as Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Sundar, and Resurrection have received high praise from audiences.
Kaushik Bardhan, a Kolkata-born software product architect based in Atlanta, is a passionate theater enthusiast. He holds an executive committee position in Aabaha and focused on diverse narratives and cultural exchange. Kaushik has performed in notable plays, directed productions, and hosted the International Theatre Festival, showcasing global talent. Richa is a versatile performer who began her career in voice-overs and excelled in recitation and Audio Drama performances. She has acted in Aabaha’s production “Revolver” and served as the emcee of all Aabaha’s productions and festivals. Richa has hosted prestigious events in West Bengal and performed in cities across the USA. She founded the first recitation group in the USA, Atlanta Abrittichorcha, and has received recognition for her contributions to Bengali recitation.
Soutik Das is an active participant in Aabaha’s productions, having performed in plays such as Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Sundar, and Resurrection. He plays a significant role in Aabaha’s art department and is a talented painter and cartoonist. Soutik showcases his cartoons on Facebook under the name “The Babumoshai,” which has amassed a following of 141K.
Subhadeep Ghosh is a passionate drama enthusiast who has actively participated in numerous drama productions in the Atlanta area since 2017. He has been involved in Aabaha’s productions, including Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Resurrection, and A Modern Story, which have received high acclaim from audiences. Apart from his love for theater, Subhadeep is also interested in traveling and photography.
Kaushik Datta is an active member of theater groups in Atlanta, Georgia, with a background in theater from New Jersey, USA. He is passionate about acting, directing, and translating plays. Additionally, he has contributed to the field of theater by creating software for Supertitles used in live performances.
Mahuya is a dedicated math teacher who has found a passion for theater through her involvement with Abaha. She performs in various productions and aspires to take on more challenging roles. Alongside theater, she actively participates in cultural groups focused on recitation. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Despite her busy schedule, Mahuya remains committed to nurturing her artistic pursuits.
Sushen Das is a passionate enthusiast of various forms of performing arts, particularly those that promote Bengali culture. His acting journey began with Abaha, where he took part in the production “Asamay.” Since then, he has continued to be actively involved in other Abaha productions, all under the directorial guidance of Kallol Nandi. Sushen’s dedication to the arts and his commitment to showcasing Bengali culture shine through his performances in Abaha’s productions.
Sarbani Samadder is a passionate advocate for Bengali culture in the United States. She is involved in various artistic forms such as drama, dance drama, recitation, and shruti natok. Sarbani has performed in renowned plays and collaborated with esteemed individuals. Sarbani’s dedication inspires audiences and spreads the beauty of Bengali culture.
Amartya has a strong connection to Bengali culture. His early performance on All India Radio sparked his passion for recitation. Amartya excelled in street theater, participating in over 50 productions and showcasing his talent in the United States.
Debleena Bandopadhyay is a passionate enthusiast of theater, recitation, and classical dance. Her deep interest in the performing arts has led her to actively contribute to Aabaha’s productions, showcasing her dedication and love for these art forms.
Akashlina Sayed, a drama enthusiast and passionate singer, has a deep love for Bengali theatre. Growing up in a literary family with a strong influence of Bengali literature and music, Akashlina has developed a strong connection to the arts.
Prabir Bhattacharyya is a seasoned self-trained actor with over 20 years of experience in Bengali theatre. He has excelled in contemporary and experimental acting, working on plays written by renowned theatrical figures from India. Prabir has also directed commercial plays, adapted from popular films for the stage. Additionally, he is a talented folk singer, known for his regular stage performances.
