A group of theater enthusiasts living in Greater Metro Atlanta of the United States of America are working together to hone their skills on various forms of theaters. Not bound only by the traditional methods and forms of theaters, Aabaha tries to bring up emotions and narratives in some alternative ways and to reach global audiences.

As electronic gizmos and digital media step in all aspects of human life, it opens a new dimension for the creative minds. In this enhanced and more capable world, Aabaha experiments with both form and content of plays, encouraging innovative efforts while holding true to social accountability and artistic integrity.

Aabaha strives to be a platform to various forms of theater, preserve tradition of theater, create social awareness using theater, encouraging cultural exchanges between people of diverse ethnicity and languages.

Aabaha’s Talents

Kallol Nandi is the founder of Aabaha to experiment with new forms of theaters by incorporating modern technologies into theaters and to popularize Bengali theaters all over the world. Kallol is one of the directors of Aabaha’s productions, and he also acts regularly on stage.

Debarati Mitra regularly acts Aabaha productions in various roles; one of her plays Existence got several awards from many places, she was the protagonist in Aabaha’s productions Independence Day, and Resurrection. She actively participates in cultural programs of her community in Greater Atlanta area, Georgia.

Kaushik Bardhan was born and raised in Kolkata, India. He has an Engineering degree from Jadavpur University and by profession he is an architect. Kaushik has performed in The Story – CaprineExistenceResurrectionPatalbabu Film star, and A Modern Story to name a few. He is also an instrumental in hosting the International Theatre Festival organized by Aabaha since 2020.

Shubhagato Bhattacharjee has been practicing this art form as an actor/writer/director. Performed at The British Council’s Theatre festivals in Kolkata, worked as an intern with some of Kolkata’s group theatres. He has been a part of a play directed by Mr. Soumitra Mitra.

Soutik Das regularly acts on Aabaha’s productions. He has acted on Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Sundar and Resurrection. Soutik is one of the key persons of Aabaha’s art department. He is a painter and cartoonist; he regularly publishes cartoons on Facebook in the name of “The Babumoshai” that has 141K followers.

Subhadeep Ghosh is a drama enthusiast, participated in many drama productions under Aabaha and other banners in Atlanta area since 2017. He has acted on Aabaha’s productions Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Resurrection and A Modern Story which are highly appreciated by the audiences.  He is also interested in traveling and photography.

Pranjal has always been an enthusiast in performing arts; from his young age he recites and plays Tabla. He is one of the key persons in Aabaha’s production design and he has acted on Aabaha’s productions like Barnabiprajay, Patalbabu Filmstar, Sundar and Resurrection which were highly appreciated by the audiences.
